At Business Insider Spain we wanted to analyze the activity of each Spanish political party on the Internet and social networks to see what their approach is from a technical point of view. All political parties employ between one and two dozen people in these fights, mainly using the tools of each social network to amplify their messages. The Podemos and VOX websites are built on Wordpress, while the PP opts for Drupal. We are already immersed in the electoral spiral that will lead us, in less than two months, to hold elections to elect new Spanish Cortes, members of regional parliaments, mayors of municipalities and representatives to the EU.
A turbulent and complex time, full of messages and proclamations in one direction and another, in which the Internet plays an increasingly decisive role. Since the 2016 North American elections, which brought the controversial SW Business Directory President Donald Trump to the White House, everyone is aware of the power (positive and, especially, negative) of social networks in the political sphere. 'Fake news' is already considered part of our collective imagination. And woe to the political party that is not clever in these matters: the new war for votes is no longer being fought in the mass media , but in ultra-personalized messages and dissemination groups classified in the digital universe.

With this in mind, at Business Insider Spain we wanted to analyze the activity of each Spanish political party on the Internet and social networks . No, it is not just another listing of the number of followers of your profiles on Twitter and Instagram. What we will see are the applications or tools that each party uses to manage their networks, the degree of humanization or automation of their task, the content engines of their websites... That is, everything that is behind the curtain but is essential for the parties to be able to reach the citizens of the 21st century. Very extensive equipment Let's start with the first thing: the people. Not in vain, those people dedicated to managing the online community and disseminating content or guidelines to the most loyal followers and activists of each acronym are increasingly relevant within the party organization charts.
